STOCKCAR REPORT THURSDAY 5th JUNE.
Last Thursday evenings stockcar meeting kindly sponsored by Road and Track motorcycles saw our regular Ministox, Formula 2 stockcars and Production Rods joined on track by 5 visiting Brisca Heritage drivers racing replica cars of the ones raced in the mid to late 1960s.
#773 Nick Whitney driving an original Ford Popular / Fiat Topolino special built in 1968.
Race wins in the ministox were achieved by #99 Dean Wade, #400 Emily Grimshaw and #18 Andrew Rothwell. With the Road and Track trophies won by 1st Rhys Warrilow, 2nd #100 Sarah Wade and 3rd Andrew Rothwell.

Formula 2 honours were shared by #426 Mark Davenport, #8 Ray Corkish and #36 Adam Smith. All three drivers scoring 14 points so trophies were awarded according to the result of the last race. 1st Adam Smith, 2nd Ray Corkish, 3rd Mark Davenport.
An increased number of Production Rod drivers made for some close racing, #9 Andrew Livesey won races 1 and 3 with #30 James Caine winning race 2. The Road and Track trophies were presented to 1st Andrew, 2nd James, 3rd #42 Bruce Dunstone.
The 5 Heritage drivers all showed great determination racing these old machines. #7 Peter Fenton from Manchester driving a 1936 Ford Model Y won race 1.
#732 Stuart Bailey from Gloscestershire racing a lowered Ford Popular won race 2.
Race 3 was led away by Manchesters Nigel Finnigan racing a 1935 Ford Model Y, #7 Peter Fenton took the lead on lap 4, leading until the 3 laps to go board was shown. #722 Clive Beales from Banbury racing a 1949 Ford Anglia then led, however he was under constant pressure from the number #7 driver, Clive crossing the finish line sideways and winning by only 2 feet from Peter and #732 Stu Bailey.
Race 4 saw Stuart Bailey claim another win adapting well to the Onchan track.
