Welcome to Onchan Raceway home of stockcar racing in the Isle of Man since 1969. Onchan Raceway celebrated 40 years of racing a while back and over the years has seen great action take place on a weekly basis. In 1992 John Whitehead bought the business and still to this day continues working hard each year to bring fun and entertainment for all the family. As well as stockcars, Raceway now offers U Drive Karting and minimoto’s for all ages. 2011 saw the successful edition of the Awesome Monster Truck, which is available for ride around the outer track. Open daily from 10am as are the Go-Karts.

The oval 400m tarmac track was re surfaced in 1997 along with the a new catch fence and steel plaiting also erected in the same season along the start / finish straight. A new pit / track entrance gate was built in 2009 and in 2010 work to the catch fence was carried out.

Starting in mid April and throughout the summer weekly race meetings can be seen. The opening race is the Whites and Yellows Ministox race. Ministox drivers are between 10 and 16 years of age and like the rest of the stockcar drivers work up through there roof colour grades. With White being a new comer / novice up to a Red roof being a PRO! The rest of the meeting will be made up of Formula 2’s, Bangers, Rookie Bangers and Production Rods as well as a full field of Ministox drivers during the evening.

Throughout the season drivers and teams from the UK and further a field are welcomed over to race at Onchan. Each year we welcome back the National Ministox. Again these are young kids who legally can not drive or even begin to drive on public roads in the UK but when you see them hurtling around the track you would think they were adults behind the wheel. The National Mini’s hold one of the Championship point meetings here and we are honored to welcome them back each year. This years National Ministox TT takes place Saturday 28th & Monday 30th July. Also this year we are welcoming back the Reliant Robin drivers to contest their Manx Grand Prix event which will be held over two meetings during the TT festival Monday 4th & Thursday 7th June 2012. The visiting Formula 2 drivers will contest their Manx Open Championship on Monday 23rd, Thursday 26th & Saturday 28th July 2012.

There is plenty of seating available with two covered tiered grandstands as well as a concrete terracing and grassed viewing area. You can purchase hot food and drink and sit back and relax and enjoy the evening’s entertainment. 

We would like to say a big THANK YOU to Hogg Rescue and the St John Ambulance who offer medical first aid cover on and off the track and without them we would be un able to hold a race meeting. Also a big Thank you to the flag men and track side marshals who assist with the safety of drivers and spectators each week.
